Over the past three years, I've been working on interesting user experience challenges at Prosper.com. Our team was assembled when Prosper was seven years old and was greatly in need of an overhaul. We've been steadily modernizing the services and design, transitioning into a mobile-friendly leader in our space based on innovation and a user-centric approach. The fin-tech industry can be confusing and the nature of the site requires thoughtful solutions for both borrowers and investors to help them manage the unique and complex financial accounts.
Our UX team is comprised of researchers and designer/user experience specialists. We identify challenges based on business needs, research, user interviews and see a project through from white-boarding, prototyping, internal reviews, user testing, development, beta releases, feedback gathering and public release.

Easily transferring funds is an essential tool in helping our customers get money on and off the investor platform. We updated the interface from the previous design (circa 2007) in order to make the process much simpler and more flexible. I designed the flow in a modal overlay so that we could launch it from many areas on the site and allow the user to stay on the same page and in the context they were involved in, rather than taking them out of the experience and dropping them into a completely different page. Another goal was simplicity. I wanted the process to be a single click if using the default settings or a few clicks at most for setting up a custom schedule or a repeating transfer.
I'm a UX and Visual Design leader with over 15 years of experience humanizing complex technology and stripping away the friction that stands between people and their goals. This site is a look at my journey through the early days of web search, the rise of global e-commerce, and the high-stakes world of enterprise fintech. Along the way, I’ve led UX for giants like Wells Fargo, Prosper, and Snapfish, always with the same mission: blending visual storytelling with strategic empathy to turn "difficult" into "delightful." It’s not just about making things look good -it’s about making the most complicated systems feel like second nature.
Background and inspiration
The Origin: Design as a Metaphor
The journey began at Parsons and MTV, but the pivot happened with illustrating Jeeves and my eventual role as Character Brand Director. Beyond a mascot, Jeeves was a human bridge to a complex internet, a user-centered solution. This experience proved that design isn't just about visuals; it’s about helping people navigate the unknown. Jeeves was my introduction to UX.

The Evolution: From Pixels to Systems
Operating as an illustrator-entrepreneur forced a "UX-first" mindset long before the title existed. This drive to solve human problems led to 8 years at Snapfish, transitioning from graphic design to lead UX Specialist. There, the focus was on reinventing digital libraries and scaling massive systems for global retail partners.
The Impact: Fintech & Enterprise
Curiosity eventually led to the high-stakes world of Fintech. At Prosper, the challenge was turning complex regulation into transparent, frictionless investor tools. At Wells Fargo, we've been focussed on similar goals plus modernizing legacy banking and rebuilding reputation and trust with customers.
